And to balance out the awesome family photos, enjoy our blooper reel!

Family Pictures 2010

Right before Thanksgiving, we had our pictures taken.  My two friends from MOPS have their own photography business, so we asked them to do the pictures for us.  And I'm so glad they did!  They turned out much better than I ever expected!

Enjoy!

Tot School - Week of 11/16

This past week for Tot School was mostly a week of free play.  Marc was on a reverse schedule at work, so he was home a good part of the week.  So Nudgie had a LOT of Daddy-Nudgie time -- and mommy got a break to run some errands, grab a coffee, do a little Christmas shopping.

Daddy doesn't take pictures like mommy does, so we're a little light on photos this week.  But I did manage to capture some of these moments.

Reading Princess books with big sister

Playing with her stacking blocks

Playing with her sensory tub.  (SO happy this was a hit!)

Doing puzzles with daddy

Standing - unassisted - on Daddy's lap.  No fear whatsoever!

Playing peek-a-boo with Daddy.  Again - completely unassisted.  That child has the balance of a gymnast!

My Babies.....

Marc hurried into the kitchen and said to me, "Come here....quick....you've got to see this...."

I grabbed the camera, which is almost always in arm's reach and caught this awesome moment with my babies.....

Danjela's Parent/Teacher Conference

Danjela's Kindergarten Picture - Age 5 1/2

We met with Danjela's teacher this past Friday morning. We're so proud of her!

According to her teacher:

* She is reading at a Level 3. Most kindergarteners at this time are barely reading at a Level 1.

* She is already scoring at end of year levels. So, three months into school, she's scoring at where she should be at the end of the year.

* She is doing great with reading a story and then being able to retell it in her own words.

* She is an excellent artist (which we think she inherited from Uncle Matt and Uncle Brian)

* She's very helpful in class, follows the rules, and helps out other students

* She is doing very well in math.  She can count to 100, where at this time of the year, they expect them to count to 20.  Again, she's scoring at year end levels

We received a checklist for the milestones that she should be at for mid-year (things they'll be learning next quarter), but her teacher said that she's already surpassed those milestones.

We are so proud of her! We took her to the school Book Fair afterwards for a reward. She was allowed to pick as many new books as she wanted. She chose the Barbie phonics set (a set of 12 mini books with a different phonics concept), the Disney Princess Christmas book, and two other Disney Princess books. She also wasn't happy until she picked a book for Nadija too. She picked a colors and numbers book set.

Her teacher also encouraged us to keep on doing exactly what we're doing with her. Yeah for us!

Story and Art Project - The Clumsy Crab

Today for our story and art project, we read "The Clumsy Crab"

Showing mommy how Nipper the Crab waves goodbye

Gluing their letter "C" crabs to the "ocean"

This child loves glue!

Cheese-ing it up for the camera

Completed project

You can see that Nadija was channeling her inner Picasso.  I know it looks more like a rabbit than a crab, but we're teaching her with the art method of letting her do her art projects herself, rather than mommy or daddy doing it for her.(Hers is the bottom, Danjela's is the top one)

I caught this moment with Marc and Nadija this morning.  So sweet!
