Danjela's First Cake!

For daddy's birthday, I asked Danjela what kind of cake we should make for Marc.  She said a zoo cake.  Hmmmm....

Didn't take long to come up with an easy idea.

Danjela helped me bake the cake (and eat the leftover batter!).  After I put a thin layer of icing on the cake, she iced the rest of it all by herself.

Mommy had to put the animals and trees on, but then Danjela took over from there, putting on the green sprinkles for the grass and the blue icing for the water pond.

The final touch was adding the "fence" which was Kit Kats.

And the finished product!  She is so proud of herself!!!  And mommy is so proud of her too!

Loose Tooth!

So Danjela has another loose tooth -- one of the front teeth now.  Mommy is so not ready for this!!

But, I decided to make her something special for the Tooth Fairy.  I made Danjela this nesting doll tooth fairy pillow.  The front part has a little pocket for the tooth and any surprises that the tooth fairy may bring.  (I'm still patting myself on the back, if I say so myself!)

Stay tuned for photos of Operation Front Tooth!

Disney Princesses on Ice

Today, as a special Spring Break treat, I took the girls and mom to see Disney Princesses on Ice.  We went to the 11am show since Danjela didn't have school all this week.  We had fabulous seats - about 8 rows from the ice.

The girls were incredibly excited and had a blast!

Getting ready for the show.  (They still don't know where we're going!)

Finally figuring it out!

Look Mommy!  Just like Belle's rose!

All together!

One pooped Princess!  The excitement was a bit too much for her!

Here's some random pictures I don't think I've sent recently!

New Family Members!

We've had some additions to the family over the past couple of days!  Join us as we welcome Fred and Frieda to our "flock"!

For some reason, they just felt at home in our front yard and decided to stay awhile.  I had to try to shoo them away when it looked like they were going after my mail!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Here in our Toy Box Household, we had a great day celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday!

Danjela started off her day with a celebration with her Kindergarten class. When she came home she immediately wanted to show off the "Cat In The Hat" hat that she made in class. She loved wearing it.

Nadija....not so much.....

Before lunch, we read "The Cat in the Hat" and did a craft. Using the girl's handprints, they drew Thing 1 and Thing 2. Danjela added the fish in the bowl too. (At first glance it kinda looks like a duck head floating in a bowl....)

After lunch and a brief "Quiet Time", we played the Dr. Seuss game, "I Can Do That". I was so excited to find this at our local thrift store for $2.99! We simplified the game a bit for Nadija when it was her turn. She seemed to have more fun crawling under the "thick-a-ma-stick" than actually playing the game. But Danjela and I shared a lot of giggles as we played.

For dinner, we read "Green Eggs and Ham" and I made a ham and cheese quiche dyed green. For dessert we had "The Cat's Hat" - which was layers of strawberry jello and whipped cream. I even put a little purple food coloring in Danjela's milk which she drank through a silly straw.

Overall, we had a really, really fun day!!
