My Own "Fair Lady"

For Danjela's recital this year, she will be dancing to "My Fair Lady's" "I Could Have Danced All Night".  She is so excited because she gets to wear a little nightgown (which she looks so freaking adorable in!!!)

Marc is going to be gone for Mother's Day......so what else is new......but I got my Mother's Day gift a little early!!!

A BRAND NEW SEWING MACHINE!!!!!

I'm so excited, I can't stand it!!!

We spent Monday getting it set up and Marc (yes, Marc!) gave me a quick tutorial.  He said it was thanks to the class he took last summer on how to repair parachutes and other equipment (using industrial strength sewing machines!).  It was good enough for me!

So this morning, I'm heading off to JoAnn Fabric with my coupons in hand to find a very, very simple pattern to start with!  All my mommy friends tell me that in order to really learn how to sew, you've just got to jump in and make something.

Marc's Birthday!

The big birthday gift - a hybrid grill (both charcoal and gas) from me, the girls and mom and daddy! 
We grilled chicken on it the next day!



Danjela's First Cake!

For daddy's birthday, I asked Danjela what kind of cake we should make for Marc.  She said a zoo cake.  Hmmmm....

Didn't take long to come up with an easy idea.

Danjela helped me bake the cake (and eat the leftover batter!).  After I put a thin layer of icing on the cake, she iced the rest of it all by herself.

Mommy had to put the animals and trees on, but then Danjela took over from there, putting on the green sprinkles for the grass and the blue icing for the water pond.

The final touch was adding the "fence" which was Kit Kats.

And the finished product!  She is so proud of herself!!!  And mommy is so proud of her too!

Loose Tooth!

So Danjela has another loose tooth -- one of the front teeth now.  Mommy is so not ready for this!!

But, I decided to make her something special for the Tooth Fairy.  I made Danjela this nesting doll tooth fairy pillow.  The front part has a little pocket for the tooth and any surprises that the tooth fairy may bring.  (I'm still patting myself on the back, if I say so myself!)

Disney Princesses on Ice

Today, as a special Spring Break treat, I took the girls and mom to see Disney Princesses on Ice.  We went to the 11am show since Danjela didn't have school all this week.  We had fabulous seats - about 8 rows from the ice. 

The girls were incredibly excited and had a blast!
