Date Night - TSO Concert

Last night, Marc and I had tickets to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  It's our 4th year going and this year, we did it up -- getting floor seats about 12 rows from the stage.  Let me say that after having these seats, there is NO going back to the balcony!  As always, it was a FABULOUS show - complete with lasers, lights, and pyrotechnics.

Nothing says Christmas like flames shooting from the stage!

Here's some photos from last night along with a very short video clip.  I apologize for the quality of the video...I was using my little point and shoot camera, but you still get the idea.  The song they are performing is called "First Snow".  Marc and I call it "Danjela's Song" because this was the first thing that started to play in the car when we were on our way to the hospital to have her!

Danjela's Birthday At Home

Later that evening, after dinner, we had a small cake for Danjela's birthday.  (Thank you Safeway for providing single slices of cake just for this reason!  Mommy was seriously all baked out!)

We sang Happy Birthday, had a taste of cake and then opened presents!  (Thank you cards are coming in the mail next week!  We're having Danjela write them herself, so they are taking a tad bit longer!)

Birthday girl!

Make a wish!

Mmmmmm....cake!

Patiently waiting!

Danjela's Birthday At School

Since her birthday was on a school day, we were allowed to celebrate with her class.  We made Christmas cupcakes to take to her class.

Battalion Christmas Party

Last night we went to our Battalion Christmas party at the base.  It was an amazing evening that included good food, great door prizes (which we won a gift card & basket from Texas Roadhouse - our FAVORITE steak joint!), a performance of "A Christmas Carol", and a visit from Santa Claus.

Two local churches volunteered their time and funds to put this event on for us - along with the USO.  It's events like this that make us so happy with the lifestyle that we've chosen.  We wouldn't change a thing!

Here are some pictures from last night.

These girls just LOVE Daddy's Blackhawk!

They look so small!

Daddy was in a unit meeting when we arrived.
So we just waited in the hangar for him to get out.
The girls are just watching and waiting for Daddy!

Wait!
I thought Santa Claus was real - not just a stupid poster!

Posing for the "official" photographer

Daddy!  I don't like the "Hookers" (Chinook helicopter)

They had a room set up just for the kids - complete with crafts, cupcakes, pizza
and Christmas movies

Sugar is starting to kick in.  She kept glazing over.

Mr. Scrooge.
Danjela was afraid of him at first until we told her that he came
straight from "A Muppet's Christmas Carol".
Then she was fine and kept asking where's Rizzo and Gonzo

Santa making his entrance.
He came in from the top of the hangar and then came down the ladder which
was covered with brown paper to look like a chimney.
At the bottom was a fireplace that he crawled through.

Santa & Mrs. Claus
(Our Battalion chaplain and his wife -- both an amazing & giving couple!)

I knew it!  I knew he was real!

One happy little girl!
